KFI-approved · patented outlet branch method

Rethinking the branch in fire-protection piping

PLS makes branch outlet fittings that leave the main pipe uncut. One weld instead of two — less time on site and lower cost.

WHY PLS

The dependable way to replace the welded tee

Less welding on site, a shorter sequence, and approvals to prove it.

KFI approval

Approval numbers and issue dates are published for every product, so supervisors and inspectors can verify them directly.

Lower cost, fewer steps

Fewer welds and less labour time than a welded tee. Enter your quantities and the saving is calculated on the spot.

METHOD

The outlet method

An opening is formed in the main pipe and the outlet is welded onto it. Everything a welded tee needs — cutting, bevel preparation and welding on both sides — is gone.

Within the same method, the BT series seats into the main pipe, which removes eccentricity and forms a consistent root gap. Weld quality becomes repeatable and welding time drops further.

COST SAVING

What you save depends on what you are replacing

There are two common ways to make a branch. Which one you use today decides where the saving comes from.

Welded tee insertion

BT · ST outlet fittings

The main pipe is cut and a tee is fitted in. With the outlet method only an opening is formed, so cutting, bevel preparation and double-sided welding disappear entirely.

Socket + nipple assembly

BT-PT · ST-PT (single part)

Many sites join a socket and a nipple instead of using a tee. That assembly is replaced by one BT-PT or ST-PT fitting.

The saving in money depends on your local material and labour rates. Send us the drawing and quantities and we will work it out for your site.
